1hdt turbo

Post by Tailspin »

Could someone tell me if a factory 1hdt turbo, would be suitable for a 1hz motor? Thanks

should be fine. they are basically the same engines. The 1hdt was built with a turbo charge the 1hz was not. but basically you can put a turbo on there. just watch your egts

Thanks mate, thought that it would suit being the same size engine, but thouhgt best to ask incase there was something that stopped it from working together.

It can and has been done before but by no means is it an identical engine. I seen a comparison on a 4wd action Dvd once and the crank shaft from memory is significantly smaller. Service it regularly an dont over-do the boost an you should be right.

The turbo will fit fine, but you may need to do some pump work to get the most out of your upgrade. a 1HD-T engine has direct injected fuel system different head, pump, injectors, crank, rods and pistons.
