Stupid Hella's - help maybe?

Post by me3@neuralfibre.com »

I've got a pair of Rallye 4000's on the car with HID's in them.
Hella doesn't seal their lights.

Getting the last few things out of my brother in law's place I had to go through 4ft of water getting out - wet lights with muddy water.
One has washed clean, one has corroded the lens in the 3 days I was cleaning the joint.

Can anyone
a) Point me to where I can get a lens at a fair price. Last time it was $20 extra to just buy the whole light?
b) Tell me how / if I can seal them so it won't happen again.

Overall it's ok. He's lost nearly the lot. I've lost a set of lights - doesn't compare really. Here's to WD40 (and knockoffs) hoping for his tools / lathe / mill etc.

The front of the light should be sealed it has a rubber o ring type setup.

The same thing happened to my lights, the best thing you can do is fully silicone the outer and inner area where the wiring goes in at the back, thats where water will leak in and then go in through your bulb mount.

Dont seal the globe in as this just makes changeout hard and lights need to "breathe" a little.
Get out there!!
