100 series stereo

Post by yenots »

Does anyone know what size speakers are in the front & rear doors of a 100series landcruiser? want to put some new speakers in but would like them to fit in the original space behind the door cover. Also, how hard is it to take off the inside door covers?

no sure on the speaker size there bud but the door skins are reasonbly easy to remove.

Remove the shroud from around the door release lever on the inside- to do this just pop open the square section/tab located in the middle of this shroud remove phillips head screw .
Then remover power window controler if ya bus is fitted with em by gently prizing it up with say a thin metal ruler or micro screw driver so as not to damage the surfaces- disconect the wiring plug socket. work your way around the door skin perimeter next by removing the plastic studs, bit tricky -just push the center lug in then pull the sleeve out to remove the whole plastic stud.Once this done gentle pull the bottom edge of the door trim away from the door about 3-4 inches only and slide the door trim upwards as there is a channel section that hold s the top of the door trim in place.
this procees can be used on the front and rear door sto gain access to the speaker wells .hope this help or otherwise go and speak to a car stereo place as the are more than familiar with what will fit in them ;)
