Bought what we thought was a cheap 3 phase drill at a garage sale. The old fella plugged it in in his garage and it worked fine. Got it home and then realised it was a 3 phase! Our current house dosnt have the power option to suit this.
Question is...has anyone ever done a conversion to a single phase...or is local to Newcastle and willing to help out?
We would like this up and going as we are blowing up power drills trying to use the pipe notcher to do some bar work for our comp truck!
Wiring 3 Phase to the house is NOT an option as we are in a rental.

Re: 3 Phase Drill to a Single Phase-doable?
Fit an inverter speed controller. Single phase in, 3 phase out and will give you speed control too.
Provided of course it's not more than the 2kw or so that a single phase wall socket can provide.

Or get a single phase motor put on top. Or use a grinder. Once you do enough notches with one. It becomes easier. And you get.really good at judging the angle
Go Hard Or GO Home

Change the motor to a single phase unit or do your notching with a drop saw... Easy as and all explained HERE
