Tough Tracks 4wd Club track building weekend 22&23rd Jan

Post by ToughTracks4wdClub »

To all existing competitors or new competitors,
Coming up on the 22nd and 23rd of January officials and volenteers from Tough Tracks 4wd Club are heading out( weather permitting) to Janowen Hills 4wd Park to scope out areas for Round 1 of Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge Series.
Anybody is welcome to come along to see what we have install for round 1, talk with some of the officials and have a constructive input into the clubs event for this year.
If you are thinking of competing this year for the first time and want to get some idea of what is in store for you in the class you are competing in then come on out and have a look at the tracks and have a chat with some of the officials as we are always keen to welcome new competitors to the event.
We will also be wheeling around in the park that weekend and look forward to seeing a few of the usual crowd aswell as anybody new that wish to join and are keen to try out their vehicles.
We look forward to seeing you all there. We will keep you posted if it is cancelled due to weather.
Regards
Tough Tracks 4x4 Club :)

Good idea. If everything is good to go, I should be right to make it for the weekend as well.

Just spoke to Jan. They have had very little in the way of rain this week.

She said she was not sure on the weekend forecast, but believes it will be good

See ya out there.

I have just spoke with Owen (12pm) and the weather is looking to be very good. He said that the park has still got a lot of water around the place but nothing to wory about for the weekend.

Interestingly he said that even though they have had no rain this week there is still water seeping out of the hills and running down so the dams are still overflowing. should be good to see.

He also said that the shed block will be closed as it's still holding too much water but the old camp ground is good as gold, just watch out on the corner as you come down to the toilet as the water has washed the track away and is water pipes are exposed, keep to the high side of the markers (White street posts).

See ya there
Kent.

We've been informed that it's pretty slow going over Cunninghams Gap and could take upto 1 1/2 hrs to get over the Gap. :bad-words:

Had a really good weekend. Best turnout for track building ever I'd say. Have got some great terrain for Challenge and Outlaw class. Challenge will be fairly technical with some goodly sized rocks and a couple of ledges. Got a couple of good 1000 point finish spots as well.

Big thanks to Ben from Team Barney for coming up and pointing out some good areas to use and giving some advice on what the cars can and can't do.

It was great see some Outlaw vehicles out there too.

Can't decide which was the funniest event - Kent falling into the small puddle and nearing drowning or the Diesel Shop boys giggling like school girls as they drove an uncleared gully and covering themselves with spiders and mud.

Bring on Round 1 - hopefully we get the same weather too.

had a good weekend and as rick said we got a couple of good tracks which will be fairly challenging as i dont see them drying out much between now and the comp so there will be alot of right boot and tyre spinning action.

cheers brett

We've set up some really good tracks for Modified Class as well. There will be big holes, hill climbs & descents, rocks, logs and maybe some mud. Challenging but fun.

Currently the Website is having Technical issues( as in everyone has been busy with whats happening in SEQ and hasn't had time to look at it). :?
You can nominate online and pay by EFT or you can nominate on Wednesday 2nd February at the club monthly meeting.
For this round only we are waving the $10 admin fee if you nominate and pay on the Saturday of the event.
If you wish to get your nomination over and done with and pay by EFT then send an email to Administration on admin@toughtracks4wdclub.org and they will send you a nomination form and the EFT details.
YOU MUST still bring with you on the day of the event the Direct deposit Reciept if you pay by EFT. :P
These issues may be rectified by round 1 but we don't want everyone waiting for us before they nominate. :smilecolros:

How do you get a receipt if you do the EFT using online banking?
Alternately, what options are there for paying in cash? ie; can we send in a nomination early, and pay cash on the day?

You need to show reciept that you have deposited the money, eg print out the deposit reciept that you will be shown on your computer when you deposit by EFT.
You can nominate and pay by cash at any club meeting or for this round only we will be excepting payment on the day but still request you nominate prior to the event.
The reason we are starting to do it this way is that we are cutting down on the amount of work the admin team have to do on the Saturday morning before we start the comp, which means that we will be able to start on time and we will also have some idea of how many people are competing in each round.
With 4 different Classes now the paper work is growing and the idea is to try and make it run as smooth as possible.
If you have any further questions please email admin on admin@toughtracks4wdclub.org or info@toughtracks4wdclub.org :)
Thanks
