after skim module or transponder & key to suit a 2000 mod tj jeep, so i can unlock the immobiliser in the computer.

If it's the same as a 1999 XJ, you will need the matching ECU as well. I replaced the ECU in one of my XJs and had to replace the skim module and key to the "matching" ones to get it to fire.
