Blue slip is when rego been out for 3 +months and or no No plates, is normal pink slip check + check on vin and engin No. (also involves finding vin & engin No in RTA database, Not all that do pink also do blue cause it takes time to do the RTA number checks, apparently there computer system is slow and dificult to search. ( What I have been told anyhow)

There is heaps that do blue, so yellow pages maybe, As long as vehicle is roadworthy should have no problems.

Pretty sure they both know what blue slips are i think he's just asking for help if anyone knows someone that could easily pass his car....Probably cause it's modified or something is wrong with it as what v.w.dave was trying to say.

its got about a 3in lift 33's and just a few little minor things wrong with it no major saftey problems the car still drives fine runs fine and stops fine just having trouble on a couple of minor things it wont be daily driven it will only be driven to tracks and when going away to comps other then that it will be staying in the driveway

Don't be cryptic just tell us what it has been knocked back on.

Dodgy pink slip people are dime a dozen, I haven't met a dodgy blue slip person that will look the other way for even minor things. Saying that I have gotten a 2 inch lift on 33's through a blue slip before without engineers, but with blue slips the devil is usually in the detail like mud flaps, lights, correct bolts, oil leaks and flares.

tyres sticking out past the guards no mud flaps on the tray and also a small oil leak tha drips from the sump plug which is maybe 1 drip a day

Why not simply fit mud flaps, plastic flares and then just stop up the road before you get to the inspection and wipe the sump plug clean, all sounds like simple easy and cheap things to do to make it comply and pass.

The oil drip is not a problem. The oil has to drip once in every 30 mins to fail. The lift will be fine as you can just say you put some SR5 springs in it. (we all know its BS but they are factory springs and they lift the truck by 2" most blue slippers will pass you if you give them the answers they need to pass you) The tires are the only thing I can't get passed for you. See if you have a mate running some stockish tires you can swop for the day and I will get it passed for you. Try to get a set of 31s or 235 75 15s and all will be good. The smaller tires will also make the lux look lower covering up the lift. As for mudflaps go to Woolies and pic up one of those $5.99 front door mats (for your house) Cut it in half and tech screw it to your underbody.
The only reason a blueslipper will fail you on the oil leak is they are looking or work and want to fix it to charge you. If he fails you over it ask to see the rule book and for him to show you the rulings on leaks. It clearly states the drip has to fall to the ground within the 30 mins it is being inspected.

Tires are the big thing blue slip people are after at the moment. Mainly because it is something the cops can pick up on without knowing anything about the car.

Something else to make your blue slip guy pass you is to take the time and clean your engine down so he can see the engine number as easy as possible.
Parches something small from them, Like wiper blades, a few light bulbs or something like that. Reason for that is the guys that do blue slips loose money every time they do one. The time it take to do a blue slip is not worth the pay they get for it, giving them that little business helps them.

Dont take it to a tyre shop, a shop which looks like it has anything to do with 4x4's or any big business.

Look for small crappy garages, (the ones with one really fat mechanic, and one really slim one, both with missing teeth) and you'd be fine.

A bit OT but how much of a difference in tyre size are we talking about? Since the limit is NSW is still +15mm I assume say a 2" bigger tyre will definitely see it fail a blue slip, ie will the blueslipper actually inspect the tyre placard and compare it against the tyre?

What I have heard through the grapevine is the people that come around and audit the blue slipers they are cracking down on checking engine numbers and tyre size. So most blue slip people will be checking tyre placards. If they look marginal they will not pass them. They will look past a 2"-4" lift as long as it dosn't stick out like dogs balls. but tyres need to be as close as possible.

In my weekly rout I have 5 blue slip people and they are all saying the same thing.

The plastic flair stuff is fairly cheap or go to hardwasr and get plastic garden edge is cheaper, protuding tyres are a highway patrol magnet just to go to buy cig papers so needed to be on road at all times,
fix sump plug with copper or fibre washer fixed for next few years and the motorcyclist amongst us will be your friend especially when rain about,
some worrry about mud flaps some dont if problem as said use rubber floor or door mat,
Be nice to the blue slipper no one likes to be laying in grease and shit so wash down engine bay and clean around all numbers so no problems for him to find or transcribe.
