QLD - DirtsprintZ 2011

Post by digsy »

Well we've been pestered enough for dates that we have locked in some dates!
We have tried our best to stay away from other bigevents both locally and nationally.

Thanks to Brent from Total Offroad/WTC fame for sending through your competition dates so we could work together and not clash with the other CQ Offroad Motorsport.

It's going to be a big year with plenty of changes and entertainment happening over the course of the year @ ProjectFMX.
The team out there have already been working tirelessly building ammenities such as toilets, food serverys and other permenant structures - which really shows the commitment that the DirtsprintZ crew have to putting on a top class event for the Offroad Enthusiast!!

Next year - in the dry - there will be such specticals as the FreestyleMX team, crazy BMX guys, and world record attempts (that ones a little hush hush but it'll be a round where you definately get your moneys worth)
There is also a dual lane stadium track for side by side racing action in front of the crowd... And just to step it up a little - the DirtsprintZ team are aiming to have it under lights before the close of 2011!

It truely is going to be a huge year in the Dirt @ ProjectFMX in 2011!

More 4Bs - more action - more buggys - bigger jumps!
There'll also be - better security - better ammenities - better shelters - better spectator access

Round 1 - 5th March 2011
Round 2 - 14th May 2011
Round 3 - 16th July 2011
Round 4 - 29th October 2011

Hope to see you all up in 'sunny' CQ in 2011 for DirtsprintZ!

And you know with names already chomping at the bit to run on a dry track, and with the experience from what can only be described as a wet round, then the action and racing is only going to be harder, better, faster, stronger...

Hey, Is it ok to run unregistered? Does the vehicle need to be CAMS logbooked if unregistered?

Also a bit off topic, but who is the best person to talk to in south east qld about CAMS inspections and licensing?

Thanks
Steve

It is ok for unregistered cars to run @ DirtsprintZ.
If they fit into a non-CAMS class they do not need to be logbooked.
They are scrutineered thoroughly to check the vehicle is in servicable condition and they must carry all the required safety equipment at all times.

As for CAMS in SEQld I'm not really sure.
But the club running the Texas Border Dash 250 would be a top place to start.
Most clubs have a member that is a CAMS official.
They can answer most of your questions or put you in touch with someone that can!!

Unfortunately Rockhampton currently has NO CAMS affiliated club!
This needs to be rectified with the amount of interest locally...

Just heard there's a new class running for the 2010 series of dirtsprints?

Naturally aspirated 4.5 litre class. For all the weird people changing engines and having to run petrol mod but are too scared. Also heard Kurt and beetle wanna run in this class too

It will really depend what transpires out of this weekend (cyclone)
just at this point - no it has not been can'd - however if Rockhampton goes into flood in the next week - which is a very good possibility - I would dare say that the track will again end up under water and that will force us to withdraw the first event off of the calander...

Unfortunately this is the way it is at the moment, and the reason that we have not been able to advertise as strongly as we did the first event in 2010. Believe me we have a video advertisement and a flood of information ready to go... but if Yasi hits as hard as predicted it will be a lost cause...

I will update this thread regularly with information and decisions after we know more...
Thanks for keepin interest in this event as we definately have huge plans for this... however the weather is the weather... I can't control it unfortunately... I wish I could after 2010 and now this

For anyone up north of Yeppoon - our thoughts and prays are with you for a safe time through out this crazy 24hrs... it's going to get really tough...
