35in rubber for a shorty 40

Post by Fieldsy »

Ok yeah yeah I know this question has probably been asked before but;

I have what seem to be standard height springs (I asked for 2in lift) and I am running 4in long grease able shackles and it is clearing 32 / 11.5 dueler MT’s no prob. One thing I was thinking of doing was extended shackles and a 2 in body lift! Yep I know bugger is not always better but I need to clear 35in rubber. Do you think this will work? Or is their a better way?

Spring resetting is not an option as the rear shackles are vertical, and a spoa is illegal here in Qld so I can’t do that either. A whole new set up e.g. springs and shocks is not an option either because I only have $1000 to spend

BTW who sells the big lift springs for a 40 series cruiser? All I can find off the shelf are 50mm / 2in lift and that aint guna cut it! Not that I could afort it any way

for pic's have a look at my web site

i have saggy springs and 2 inch body and mine cleared 35s no worries. (i have a tray tho.) on the rear you could cut the guards out. front has no problem except if you are running the standard steering box, as the rod going from the steering box to the relay box rubs on the tyre. when compressed and turning.

they came out with 32s so 2 inch body and extended shackles is perfect.
