Can anyone confirm that an 8" hilux auto locker will NOT fit into a L/C hi pinion hemisphere?
Could i use an open 8" hemishpere with correct bearings though?
Regards Mitch

It will fit. May need to use the larger type bearings. These are found on the H/P and what they yanks call a V6 center, such as the 2.8 desiel 4.3:1 center.

Re: Help needed! high pinion conversion into ln106
thanks willy, i thought so.
However...
my problem is im trying to fit a spartan locker (auto locker) into a high pinion hemisphere, i cant get the second coupler in with the side gear shims on. It all fits in with no shims however the gap is excessive (4mm). According to the instructions there should be a .145- .170 inch (.3- .45 ish mm ) gap between the 2 couplers. The distance between the 2 couplers with no shims is roughly 4mm, the shims measure roughly 3.5mm, so if they fit i'd be in a closer ballpark. Any suggestions?

this is the same instructions that came with the locker. I found it hard to understand, and it doesn't sau anything about reusing thrust washers?
