Tigerz Cliffhanger 4wd Event meetings in cities around Aust.

Post by NavRun »

Dear All,

Here’s another industry leading first from the Crew at Cliffhanger 4WD Events. Hobzee and myself are going to go “on tour” around the country to discuss the Cliffhanger 4wd Event in depth, in person to all of you ... and you will be pleased to learn our supporting act is Steve Schafer from CCDA. (SEE TOUR DATES AND VENUES BELOW)

We have spent the last few months making preparations and finalising our sponsors (we have matched previous years) and now we are on an information drive for competitors and spectators. We are really pleased with our progress to date and the level of support and commitment we have received from the Cobar community, our valued sponsors and competitors who have entered.

Breaking news – Tigerz11 have agreed to become naming rights sponsor. Even if you are running your Hybrid Hi Mount in the event, Tigerz11 have great prices on rope, offset fairleads and controllers to suit comp rig standards, not to mention a huge range of great winches and accessories for the spectators and support crews. One thing we just learned is that Paul at Tigerz11 is working on perfecting the twin motor low mount with a motor at each end – and he is really close to nailing it for general public production. As serious off roaders you have to admire him for that kind of initiative.

We have a lot of exciting new aspects to the event to discuss with competitors and spectators .... this will be like your first Briefing for the event.
Catering options
Changes to base camp
Spectating
Repairs on site
Marquees in Pit Lane,
Production Class
Polaris Class – now with recognised specs in CCDA
Our comprehensive new supplementary regs
Our sponsors for 2011
The new stages and stage concepts
The type of support and facilities you can get in Cobar
What to expect if you are new
Vehicle preparations – car numbers, scrutineering, etc
Lots of questions answered.
And seeing we have Steve from CCDA with us, he will be able to talk about the latest news coming out of the CCDA, clarification on on new and old rules, vehicle and equipment specs, other events, etc. So even if you can’t make it to this year’s Cliffhanger then you might still wish to come to our gig in March to learn about the CCDA and what you might need to do to prepare for other events.

And above all it’s a great way to catch up with fellow competitors for a social.

So we extend this invite to competitors, officials and spectators of Cliffhanger and any other event for that matter.

Please make sure you spread the word around..... EVERYONE IS INVITED.

Need more info on the event in general then go to our website http://www.navrun.com.au" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and click on the Cliffhanger link.

We also have you first bumper 22 page newsletter out, with all the in depth details of the event and sponsor information...

Go to to http://www.navrun.com.au/cliffhangernewsletter.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; to download it ( 1.6mb PDF File)

NO BOOKINGS REQUIRED, just show up and please bring your own chair!

I have a very general question that is probably outlined in your rules, but I haven't currently read the rules in full...

If my vehicle fits every rule and regulation but is not currently registered - can I still compete? It still has a full chassis, body and all other safety specs - it's just that QLD is getting very difficult to keep any sort of competition vehicle registered... and if it is registered it is probably highly illegal anyway for comprehensive 3rd party insurance?

Just a quick question for you anyway...

thanks for your reply....

we have a class for unregistered vehicles... so the answer to your question is yes.... we can allow you to race.... this accomodates buggies, polarasis' and the like

reason why... the whole event is held on private property...

please go to our website, it has all the details in regards to the Unregistered Class and download and read the latest newsletter

Sorry to be more specific - my question was that if my car meets all the specs of Challange Class - but isn't registered - can I still compete in Challange Class? or just because my car doesn't have a rego slip - but still is a full bodied vehicle exactly the same as all the other challange cars - do I have to run in the buggy class instead? Or another example - if I built a GQ wagon to production specs, but didn't want to pay rego, etc on a vehicle that I intend on running in one event a year - can I run it in production class without rego?

I just thought it was worth asking the question. Because QLD rego laws are getting stricter and stricter, roll cages are getting harder to get complied, and more people in CQ at least are starting to look to unrego'd events to compete... but Challange Class is more in line with the vehicle specs... most of the rigs up this way are as far from a buggy as possible...

sorry.... very good question.

Yes, you are allowed to compete with an unregistered vehicle in the Challenge Class.... as well as production if they meet all the other CCDA specs.

It is getting harder and harder in most states now to be compliant to be a regsieterd vehicle... and at Cliffhanger we understand this.... so we are very fortunate that our event is run 100% on private property to be able to do this.

Hoping to see you and all your mates at the 2011 Cliffhanger!!!!

Excellent stuff!

I know there'll be a strong contingent from Central Qld!
I'm actually tied up on your meeting night at ARB Rocky - or I would have come said hi!
Hope it is a hit as CQ is definately rock solid in the winch truck scene at the moment!

Cheers
