Help needed for scout troop, Brisbane.

Post Help needed for scout troop, Brisbane.
Im currently a leader of a scout troop in Brisbane and have donated 2 jeeps to the Scouts and Ventura's to rebuild into a working car and a jeep trailer. These guys are 15-18yrs old and keen as hell but skills are lacking in some. They are also the next generation of 4x4 lovers.

Ive donated my shop to their use for 4hrs on Tuesday nights (twice a month) for this project and have tools, hoists, welding gear etc.

If anyone that has some skills in sheetmetal, engine building, panelbeating, Auto electric's etc would like to come down and help out once a fortnight for a few hours the scouts would love to hear from you. I have someone that can do the painting (and has a booth) but everything else is upto us. Will also be chasing some parts from time to time.

The car, trailer and parts etc will become the property of the scouts and not me personally.

at the end of it will they receive any badges in the shape of various Dana diffs?

would make logical sense that levels of achievement go up from a 30 to a 35 and then to a 44 and then a 60.

Apart from the flooding, cyclones and Capt Anna Bligh its perfect up here :D

Chasing some trailer springs and axles first up. Have wheels and the steel for the trailer at this point. Ill start a build thread once its underway.

i dont have time to offer, but have access to a heap of car parts and could supply you with a nice set of commodore/falcon seats, radiators fans etc.

I dont have any Jeep parts, but keep me in mind if there is other stuff you need.

actually if you wanted to make a coily trailer i have a set of coils here that you can have for postage costs.

they are off a commodore or something, about 14 inches high and about 250in/lbs i believe. so you could run a smallish camper or trailer with them. I won't be able to get home for three months but i can get the missus to take a pic of them as well as the part number so you can ring the supplier to find out exactly what rate they are.

Hi mate which group are you involved with and where abouts are you situated? Im with the sunnybank rovers and we are currently rebuilding our bashcar. We have some skills but lack tooling (as well as tracking down parts). Maybe we can help each other out?

Hi ours it a bit of a bitsa are we are rebuilding it after a dis agreement with a tree. Its a GQ front end with an MQ/MK rear end running a 318 valiant, all tin/corriguated iron custom body. We have finally found another GQ front and hopefully will have it very shortly.

Still in need of a few things like descent shocks for a GQ and possibly some swaybars at the moment also some scrap steel RHS, flat, angle anything we could use to make some new mounts for the engine/gearbox etc. List will grow as we start putting back together. We will also be looking for some spotties they will help us thru the night run as ours have also died.

Cheers Dan

What part of Brissie are you in?

I am an engineer not a tradie (so completely useless ;) ), but can weld, panel beat and do mech stuff. Have rebuilt a few cars... (and shown a few people how to do it themselves)

Can't help tonight, but let me know when you will be working on it next.
