TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
I'm curious as to what they put out, and fuel economy.... my ute is fairly loaded up all the time.. to the extent where i had to fit these
i wouldn't mind giving it a bit more poke because i will be on the road a lot.
I know i know... the info is out there..... i don't have the time to research it. I thought i would turn to the great outers oracles for my info

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
ok... i looked for a few minutes..... the UK based 3.0 Lux goes from 128kw to 143kw... quite a good increase!! the aussie one is 126kw.
What is the fuel economy like?? if it's going to send it through the roof, i'll stick to having to plan overtaking manoeuvres.... it still goes pretty good considering it only has 3,000 km on it and is probably carrying over 400kg on it full time. But some hils i have my foot mashed to the floor in 4th to get up without losing too much speed.
I'm interested in hearing from those that have experienced them.

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
search noob
Turbo diesel 3.0L??
No direct experience with these really.
A contractor I had on a job last year had a 3.0l TD Lux that had been chipped and boost increased, I took it for a drive after chatting with him about it. It would light up the tyres in 1st and 2nd if you gave it a boot full, it surprised em how much punch it had.
This was carrying a light load, maybe 250kg and two big blokes. He had it set up with a remote control fob on his keys so he could switch from standard tune to performance tune so his missus or workers would not put it off the road.
I dont know what chip it had, and he said the economy wasnt great, but he also said economy depended a LOT on how much right slipper you use, but that is true of most things. Vulc, if you have your right boot mashed to the floor, economy aint gonna be great now I'm guessing

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
i did search hence the reason i then asked for experiences. I only gotta mash the right foot on hills.... it will climb most moderate hills in 5th, but it will lose 5-10kph. Moderate hills in 4th no worries at all..... the steeper ones it doesn't like much... but as i said, i would like just a little more punch on the open road. fuel economy at the moment is a little off... but that's because it's new, and like i said, carries a fair bit of weight all the time. My single cab auto i had at the last place i worked got about 9 litres per 100... but i was hard on it... it carried a bit of gear as well, and i generally drove it hard. This one (dual cab) is about 10/100 at the moment. But i am guessing it would use a little less with more power and a bit more torque...... dependant of course on how hard it gets driven.

also, at this stage, i haven't revved it past 3,500 rpm as yet. I don't want to fark a new engine.

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
I'd be happy with 10L/100km especially in something that is moderately loaded all the time.

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
it doesn't really worry me... i'm not paying for the fuel... but i don't want it to be too thirsty

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
does the chip auctually alter the pump or does it trick the coolant sensor for the ecu making it think to run rich coz it cold.
alot of the cheap chips just plug into the coolant sensor inlcuding the roo systems chip

Re: TUNIT for a 2011 Lux
One of the guys I work with put an Xede in his dual cab. It controls fuel and boost, only a couple more PSI. He also put a 3 inch exhaust on at the same time and it goes well. Fuel economy is about the same overall unless he's really using the extra power, it would probably be slightly better if he didn't drive like a dick. It has the ability to be switched off so it will run a standard tune also.
