Will we ever see it again??

Post by Sheafofskie »

hey guys....

i was having a look through old videos of past jamborees at Mt Seaview, Milbrodale, Dunedoo and the like....

now i know it's a VERY long shot, one part due to jamboree's only being held every few years now....but is it at all possible to have future jamborees at some of these places again???

i understand that some of these places are no longer suitable, but places like milbrodale have evolved over the years to accommodate for the more capable trucks....

i just want to see this kind of club stuff happen again, like sure, nissan trials and willowglen and other club comps are still very club orientated, but there was just something different about jamborees that used to make my year......

now i realise that i'm only 18, and i don't understand fully about what goes into making something like this work....but i was one of those kids that sttod behind the bunting at the boghole on the sunday morning cheering my dad on as he flogged his grey V8 FJ45 through the mud.... :finger:

thanks

The last 4x4 Jamboree was out at Dargle, in 2007, was held by the Onall4s Club, same place that Woodpecker and Black Rat were held.

There was supposed to be a Jamboree last year, put on by the Downunder Club, out near Orange I think.
It didnt go ahead due to some issue Im not totally sure about, from what Ive read, the same thing this year, ie; not going ahead due to issues Im not sure about.

Id love to attend another Jamboree too, J7 was my 1st taste of 4wd competition, I had the 4runner back then. It was an awesome weekend, even though it rained for most of it.

Im sure there will be more 4x4 Jamborees again, but when, youll have to ask the association that.

Maybe you should have a crack at Son Of Trials, which is on next weekend, just outside Mittagong. Its an entry level comp with 3 classes, Standard(for standard cars, with standard tyres), Touring(for lightly modified cars, with suspension lifts allowed and up to 33inch tyres), and Touring Plus(for cars the same as in touring, but factory traction control is allowed)

Its a fun event, where the atmosphere is more around fun driving than competitive driving.

I had a blast last year, and was planning on going again this year, but my severe lack of funds has stopped me.

Theres a thread on the action forum, or you can check out the Patrol Club website for details.

Well Clint You should not speed when you are on your P's and you might have a licence still.!!!!!! maybe next year

I remember the old days, with your dads 45, well we will have to see what happens, maybe someone will put their neck on the line and do it again till then. Keep wheeling any wayz

How is the suzi going been wheeling lately, not that many tracks down here, you guys are very lucky in the Hunter with lots of tracks and not many locked gates, wish I was back their some times, but you need to pay the bills and get ahead in life (thats what the wife says) so Im down south, Keep having fun
