hi im wonder which way to turn my injection pump on my nissan patrol with the 4.2 diesel engine to advance the timing on it

I believe the top of the pump goes away from the engine (anticlockwise as you look at it from the front of the car). You should really be measuring it properly, not just guessing

Yeah watch out with how far you move it.
my mate had his pump out for whatever reason and got his marks mixed up and the knocking noise it made, made baby Jesus cry...
