I see no benefit it leaving the Vit` transfercase there and adapting the sierra case onto it. Just get rid the the Vit` case altogether, go from 4sp auto straight the sierra transfercase 6.4/1 TTs. Thats it. Imagine that ,4sp auto lever, Vitara transfercase lever, sierra twin stiks, then rear disconnect lever, then Spidertrax E-brake lever. All that it the same tunnel

i want vit/sierra twin transfer because of the highrange reduction and good spread of gears.
my next build will be a 4 door vitara with hilux diffs and this will mean i need dont need to use fragile 5.71
diff gears to get a suitable highrange reduction without spending a couple of grand on a undertaker box.
also spreading the reduction over a couple of boxes helps with strength issues with the sierra case.

I`ve seen issues in the past where gears were made from hardened butter or the like, or tranfer mounts have torn off because you used factory rubber mounts with 6.5 gears but where you mount a case held down at each corner and use good TT gears , I don`t see much problem with the box. A good place to test all that is driving dry river beds where pebbles become boulders and really test the strength of running gear. I`m working over the Gravitron as best I know how, but nothings a breaking.

i run 6.5s in my LWB sierra now and beach launch a relatively heavy boat with no issues however with a vitara with 35s or bigger
i dont want all the reduction in the sierra box. i am going to use stock 4 speed with stock vit transfer and 1.0 sierra transfer.
that should give me good highrange and a good crawl ratio with the biggest tyres i can get approved.

i dont have any dramas with the 6.5s in my sierra but i dont think they will be the go for my vit build.

I like the idea, if your running smaller tyres (not eveyone wants 33's and 35s etc) the 4.16 is a nice reduction for 31's\32's with a 1.6 but in steeper stuff you sometimes want lower gears and in mud\slick stuff you sometimes only want a bit of reduction more like factory low range, so you can readily keep the motor in it's sweet spot.

Oh once you do something like this, seriously look at beefing up all your driveline mounts from the engine mounts back .. you are going to be putting alot of torsional stress into the various housings.
