Improving Power of TB42E Patrol

Post by collins110 »

Hey guys i just bought a 91 nissan patrol (Petrol) and im wondering what the best mods were for more power.

i was thinking of putting:

-2.5" extractors 3" pipe and full flow cat
-K & N Air filter
-3" Stainless Snorkel
- Upgrade points to the electronic ignition system
-Fitting aftermarket Holley Carby system

do you think this will help? or are there better things? cant do turbos or superchargers unfortunately lol

Sounds like you have a TB42S not TB42E.

Exhaust and electronic ignition will help, I would not run the holley the standard carb is not that bad.

The TB42 is never going to be a performance motor with stock internals and naturally aspirated. It has a heavy rotating assembly, low compression and a tiny cam.

The only way to make decent power is with a turbo setup.

Or drop in a V8!
