TB42 Turbo & Manifold ?
TB42 Turbo & Manifold ?
Can anyone suggest the best suited turbo for use on the TB42? & additionally where, preferably, an equal length runner, low mount manifold might be purchased?
Re: TB42 Turbo & Manifold ?
high mount manifold (keeps the turbo out of mud, water and crap a little more) and run a gt3540, how ever ebay t3/t4 hybrids work well, its what i use cos im a tightass
Maverick. Unlocked on 35's MOTTO: Lock, Stomp & Hold on

Wish I could give you some info mate. When I get it right I'll hapily pass on as much info as i can.
Seems no1 on here really likes to share such info with anyone that doesn't wanna spend days reading through old posts before asking any questions.
My advice is. If you want tuned length manifold, Don't buy a stainless one. I have herd alot of people use them with no drama's but un-fortunately i wasn't one of them. My stainless manifold cracked after about 6months of use. I then folked out for a tuned length steem pipe manifold and works great. stainless was cheaper but when you have to buy 2 it doesn't work out cheaper at all.
Be carefull of chinese turbo's they can also lead to un needed problems, buy good stuff from the start

Re: TB42 Turbo & Manifold ?
Personally I like the low mount manifold, like the DTS/MTQ one, the turbo is sealed unit and water entry will not be an issue if all your hoses are tight and quality. The advantages are that the dump pipe exit is lower and dosen't have to run the length of the firewall causing heat in the cabin, also the appearance is somewhat more stock, you can heatsheild the manifold and keep the heat off the bonnet, the flow is better than the Denco top mount also.
