Hi,
Have got a 2006 4.2 GU wagon that has 3.9 diff gears. The car runs 33" tyres and seems to be missing a bit in the bottom end. Have had turbo upgrade done that improved the top end.
I am comparing it to my 4.2 GQ.
I have 4.11 diff gears that came out of the GQ - i am told that they will fit.
My question is will 4.11 be enough or should i go to 4.3?
its a tourer that tows a camper and i dont want to go to low but i also dont want to change the gears and not have them low enough.
I hope that makes sense,
Welchy

Re: Gu Diff Gears
hey i just took my 4:11s out and put 3:9s in because that is what my lockers were fitted to and i was feeling lazy
i didnt really notice that much difference between them.you are only down 200 rpm at 100kms so it mite be enough for you to acheive what you want
but if your not running at least a 35 the 4:3 will be a little low on a 33 motor will be screaming in 5th
hope that answers your questions

Re: Gu Diff Gears
x2
I run 4.3's because when i go wheeling on the serious stuff i run 35's and they are perfect for it. However i run 33's as my dailys and the gears are too short, engine revs too much and its a pain in the ass. For touring and 33's you want 4.1's.
