TD42 wiring

Post by mickyd555 »

Can anyone help me out with the wiring required for the engine only. Im looking at rewiring my ute completely but i want to keep the factory wiring for the engine. All other wiring will be stripped out and only whats needed will be kept. I dont need indicators, headlights or anything like that. I will keep the factory speedo and tacho i think just because its easier

Am i better off buying a new loom and butchering that or keep the one i have and modify it.

I would have thought as long as you can turn the start and power the fuel solenoid on the injector pump it will run.

wouldnt it be easier to just make a new loom yourself, you dont need much to get the motor to work , all the wires are colour coded so they are easy to trace

Thats what i want to confirm. Also need glo plugs but i think i could get away with a delay off timer perhaps (i think its commen to do that on 75 cruisers because the factory unit is shithouse).

How does the tacho/speedo go with that? Does the cluster basically just need a power source and then inputs for each?

I think the sensors are on the gearbox??
