rangie rear locker

Post by snell40 »

yet another question...im wanting to eliminate having to replace a rear diff every time i go 4bn in my rangie.
i was thinking of putting a rear salsbury in but for the same price i can get a locker for the original diff.
im just wondering if a rear locker would stop me blowing the diff all the time...
coz its always the sun gears and the rod that holds them in that goes.
also are you able to get an auto locker for the rear??? being full time 4x4 im unsure whether you can
cheers dave

Don;t forget he's running 24spline maxi drive axles, if yours has been untouched it will have 10spline axles.
locker + 35s + 10splines = carry spare axles!

Most lockers are 24 spline only, forcing you to upgrade the shafts at the same time. Which is a good idea anyway.

Maxi drives are a great unit if i had the coin and they still made them i would get one over an arb locker... but ive just put a arb locker in bought the 24 spline hi tough axles from les richmond in melbourne for around the 750 mark the only problem ive had was when installing you have to be very gentle in screwing air hose onto the pumpkin with the rubber o ring and if your actually fitting the locker yourself into the diff caseing make sure that copper line is well clear of the crown wheel it is a very tight squeeze....
