Hi all,
In the next few weeks I am moving from Rocky QLD, to Sydney NSW. Im still undecided to sell or take my patrol with me?? worried about tranny depot, and police down there.. and if i will get picked up and defected etc...... If i keep it rego'd in QLD will this help?
Patrol Specs:
Dual cab cut, modplated (QLD)
2 inch body lift, modplated (QLD)
4 inch springs, looking at dropping it anyway maybe 3 inch/no spacers..
30mm spacers, as above. ^^
Superflex fornt arms,
All other arms adj.
35's
generally is a very clean truck, is looked after, hardly any dints, and near new paint..
Cheers, any info would be great:)

Keep it rego'd in QLD take the spacers out leave the lift in and buy a set of 31s or 32s for daily.
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.
Re: Moving from QLD, to NSW
You could make that all legal in Nsw what in QLD the lift and tyres have no hope of ever being legal
Ransom note = demand + collage
Re: Moving from QLD, to NSW
do you have an address you can leave the truck regoed in qld? so much cheaper!
I would normally say transfer to nsw, rip out the spacers put on 33's and be done with it, then throw your 35's back on when you want to, after the blue slip.
But due to the cab chop you will need a nsw engineer to sign off on it - still the best option if you can. but its not as simple as 'nsw is easier on mods than qld'. in theory its still too high, tyres too big and structurally modified body.
But if you leave its rego in qld it will attract a little more attention to your truck than if it had nsw plates and after 3 months here they can fine you for not transferring rego - the easy solution to that is... hello officer, yeah im only here for 8 weeks then i head home to qld...
unlike my mate who simply cant lie - top bloke but when he was asked he replied wihtout hesitation 9 months sir.
our inspectors aren't super strict like qld but something that modified will still attract a bit of attention so probably best to be legit as possible.
eg my patrol with 3 inch lift plus 33's didn't get a second glance when it got regoed last week.

Is it a daily or play truck? I live in NSW and have left my fully engineered in queensland rego on the truck. It has been that way for three years but i get away with it becausethehanko wrote: But if you leave its rego in qld it will attract a little more attention to your truck than if it had nsw plates and after 3 months here they can fine you for not transferring rego - the easy solution to that is... hello officer, yeah im only here for 8 weeks then i head home to qld...
.
A. I work away 50% of my time and the truck doesn't get driven in that time
B. I have a legitmate address in queensland.
C. Even when i'm at home it's not a daily.
There is no law that says you can only own one car in one state of this country. Even if the registered address is a PO box in Queensland, there's no way they could prove that you don't drive that vehicle regularly from brisbane to sydney which is why it is still regoe'd up there.
