Not always. Depends on where the gasket rupture is. Yours must be exhaust to cooling system. You can get a carbon test done on your cooling system to confirm this. Mine went the same way, no oil in water/water in oil.

Can you see bubbles in the water or is it just running over? Sounds like combustion gases as has already been stated.

Was it doing it before you changed the coolant. If it wasnt, open the heater tap ( turn the heater on in the car) and run it until the truck reaches operating temp as there could be an airlock in the heater hoses/ core. If it was already doing it, Is it when the car is hot or cold ?? reason i ask is, if its cold and bubbling out of the radiator, its nearly certainly a blown head gasket. If its only when its hot. Its any or a combination of the following, blocked radiator, failed viscous hub, loose fan belts, missing fan belts ?!?!?, blocked thermostat, failed waterpump, or a blockage in the cooling system some where along the line.

Have you bleed the system? An air pocket will cause the water to boil and can be caused by incorrect filling, blockages in the system or a stuck thermostat as well. It might not be all doom and gloom just yet. Check thermostat first

Thanks guys,as I said I got it checked finally and he couldnt detect any gasses in the coolant and did a compression test along the 6 cylinders all reading 180.

She hasnt got a heater but am looking, now the worst case is eliminated, at caps, thermostats, etc. Tried to burb it but it kept running out the top with bubbles????
Weird hey

If all you did was change the coolant and you don't have gasses blowing into the cooling system, about the only other possibility is an air lock. If the system is basicly standard it should be self bleeding. I would check the thermostat to make sure the jiggle pin hole is clear if it's blocked, the system wont bleed readily and as the air heats up it will expand and displace water. LOL Ed.
