Didn't this happen in a Corolla recently...?
Check the floor mat. If it's not that then the fiction maybe too tight in the pedal unit.

These are fly by wire now aren't they? No engine light or other warning lights on the dash?
Re: 200 series throttle sticking
they are fly by wire, which means if its not something stupid like sand or grit in the pedal box or the floor mat it could be a pretty fun ride soon.RAY185 wrote:These are fly by wire now aren't they? No engine light or other warning lights on the dash?

Yeah. I'd be getting the accelerator position sensor checked out on a scanner asap if nothing else is found.chunderlicious wrote:they are fly by wire, which means if its not something stupid like sand or grit in the pedal box or the floor mat it could be a pretty fun ride soon.RAY185 wrote:These are fly by wire now aren't they? Re: 200 series throttle sticking
And for some peace of mind I would report the Problem to Toyota so if anything does happen they have it on record.
I'm not quitting drinking, I'm retiring at the top of my game - sporting comeback likely.
Re: 200 series throttle sticking
hey thanx guys yea apperently it had somethign to do with the sensor was a bit wild when it was stuck wide open
Re: 200 series throttle sticking
There has been a recall on this in the past already.
There has been a number of death's mainly in the USA caused by TPS sensors malfunctioning. I would be contacting the dealer asap so they can replace the sensor.

Number of Hilux's and 200s had this exact problem, and we were informed by one of the head tech's it was being recalled on certain models.
