Violent shudder suddenly appeared

Post by grimbo »

Today a violent shudder has appeared in the rear (I believe) of my GU wagon. Drove to lunch it was fine no shudder, but when I drove back it appeared. It seems to be appearing at around the 60-80 mark and disappears when I accelerate.

It has a 5 year old 2" lift in it and couple year old 33 mud tyres on it.

I didn't hit anything and nothing appears to be a miss, tyres aren't flat.

Any suggestions?

Sounds like it could be your panhard bushes, they look fine but quite open they're gone.

Appears it might be a split bush in the front trailing arm. It hasn't had rhe shudder again but it has needed a wheel alignment and tyre balance for awhile. Might get that done and do a proper look
At the bushes.

How involved is it tO replace them in both trailing arms and panhard? I'm guessing I'd not a press of some sorts
