Post by mudtoy »

Ok guys, 4x4 TV goes to air tomorrow night at 6:30pm on Vic based Ch31. The details are at www.4x4tv.com.au.
There has been a huge amount of interstate interest and Ch31 Brisbane, Sydney and Perth are interested, so please keep sending us emails.
We have done our best to portray recreational 4wdriving in a responsible light whilst still catching plenty of action...we hope you enjoy it...and tell all your friends to watch.
Thanks,
Simon.

All the best for your show but this may sound a stupid question from sydney, however what is channel 31? Is that free to air or paytv?

Ch31 is the community channel in Melbourne . . . I am pretty sure it is only available in metro Victoria and is free to air.
I'm not very good looking, so I guess I better be useful . . .

Ch 31 is free to air and is not far from SBS Ch28. The show is initially set for Vic release only but we are hoping to go national if we get enough support.

It's in Brisbane too and they have some very good 4wd track/rally/bike shows that are locally filmed.

And thanx for plugging the vic suzi club, too.
ch 31's sound quality is poor for us hearing impaired people, but thats not your fault...keep up the good work, christover

Pretty good quality except the editing for the Narva segment.
A good spread of the 4x4 scene which should attract a wide audience.

Very happy with show 1, we worked our arses off. The Narva scene was perfect the last time we saw it...the editor's computer has stuffed it up when going from the rough cut to the final in high resolution but overlook that and the few problems with sound...not too bad.
Thanks to all those who watched and for the support...hope you are back next week.

Saturday 11:00am will be a repeat and from May onwards it will also be aired on Friday nights from show 1.

It was when they were doing a little shopping trip for furniture - they spotted your car in the shelving / storage department in ikea :D

Ah so you'd be in the background footage then, shopping trolley full helping Mr ikea become the richest man on the planet :D

I probably was

Right - back on topic - it was your car (in it's green format) driving in toolagi (either glenburn or the lower areas of rocky) and that was followed up with a certain red coiler melting tyres on its way up rocky track.

There was also plenty of footage of Milan (sp?) driving a big white shiny thing around too).

Next week they are going to cover Cruiserkhana i believe.

Hey guys

I'm the other half of 4x4 TV. Simon has told me of the response we were getting on the forum (and i'll admit i was a bit sceptical) - but this is pretty overwhelming...

Thanks for your support.

Just to bring you up to speed with a few things while Simon takes a well earned rest. Obviously you all know that our website has been up a running since late Jan - we're now at over 50,000 hits. Now the tech gurus have told us that means diddly, so for those of you who understand tech talk - this is around 5,000 'unique page requests'. Not bad for two guys with absolutely no professional TV training, and working nights and weekends to bring you the best (the only) 4x4 show on TV.....

We're now starting to get hits from NZ and SE Asia (hot off the press...)

But remember, as we said in the show (for those of you who haven't/couldn't see it) support our sponsors - without them - this would not have happened. And if you see two distinct '80's on the road, or Simon's '40, wander over and say hi - we don't bite (we're just tired and stressed trying to put something together that has never been done before - that's all).

Anyway, to answer alot of your questions, we're in the process of speaking to people about cutting the show to Video and DVD - and Simon's already let you guys know about WA, NSW and QLD (you'll just have to watch the website for more info). As for Tassie, ACT, SA/NT - I don't know - we've had a look at the web for local TV channels - but can't/didn't find anything. This is where we appreciate and value your help - if you know what's there - LET US KNOW!!!! (Or even contact them - we can't be everywhere for us - this is how WA, NSW and Qld 'found' us - from you guys).

We've also had some 'noises' from the US(cable) and Europe(ESPN) - but we both think that this a pipe dream at the minute.

Series 2 looks like it's on as well, but stay tuned to the website for all the info!

But seriously, Simon and I have a million ideas - what do YOU want to see? We realise we can't please everybody (and sorry to those if you thought we were trying). With more and more tracks being closed, and the 'persona' of recreational 4WDrivers being dragged through the mud every time the bull bar debate becomes fashionable by some idiot, email us with your ideas/suggestions. Eventually, with your help, we can take this show to commercial TV (fingers x'd); it's a very brave channel to knock ratings.

That's about it. We'll be at every comp, show, product launch, etc etc we can get to (please remember that there is just two of us, and that we both have successful careers outside of the show - not including the fact that we're both renovating - what a nightmare!! - and i'm studying masters...) And if you see our sponsors at a show (and we're not there becasue it's interstate) - go up to them and tell them thanks for supporting the very first dedicated 4x4 television program in Australia.

Thanks again for all you support. Keep those emails going (Simon and I are happy to receive them personally if you want to 'chat' privately), keep watching the show (and tell ALL your mates - and don't forget the repeats on Sat morn's!), any/all constructive feedback is welcome, and hopefully we'll catch up together (speaking of which, any one going to the Gathering later this year? What about the CSR re-enactment 2006 - any plans?)

Chat soon

Regards

Hari

Well done guys, great to see someone get off the backsides and make something of their dream.

You need more footage of my zuk obviously :D

Our club has a bunch of footage and i will endeavour to get the relevant people to talk to your people and arrange something. What about hooking up with clubs on day trips. The invite is there from the Suzuki Club.

A couple of pieces of constructive criticism. Try and dress up the couch section a bit it looks abit amatuerish. Simon loose the hat, Hari try and keep the cheat sheets away from your face.

Other wise you are doing a great job that hopefully the 4wd community will get behind and really support
