remote/divorced transfer cases

what vehicles had remote or divorced transfer cases?
i know that the datto 720 had em as did some LWB MQ patrols and sierras had them too. what else had them that may be cheap and easy to find?

i am building a sierra based play toy out of leftover bits and need a transfer that will handle a commo v6 and auto. have the 1lt transfer case in the chassis but i have my doubts.......

want to have it last but dont want to spend a heap of coin either.

any help would be much appreciated

I know that people have divorced mounted the lt230 from landrover/disco/rangerovers. very stout case. with good options

Have a look at a Lada Niva one. IIRC they have reduction in high as well as low, are divorced, and are supposed to be good for 300hp. Should be cheap.

sounds good for the lada one but they cant be easy to find?
i havent seen one in years.......

No idea. I doubt they'd be exxy, you could try sending a PM to eddy on this forum as he is a good bloke and a Lada Niva enthusiast as well. I think he would know good sources.

I am running dual transfers using a nissan 720 case and a mq patrol case bolted together in my zook and they have held up no problems behind a commo v6 even in comps.

I will have to have a look but I don. think there are any in my build thread on here but it is very simple to do basically the input flange on the mq transfer and the rear output flange on the 720 case are identical and simply bolt together with some mq tailshaft bolts.

Ok but how do they all fit under there? mounts? clearance? drive shaft angles? How short is your rear shaft?

Why do you (hiluxmad) need a divorced case? Why not just get an adapter for a lux or patrol case for the T700? Both have gearing available and are plenty strong enough to handle the output from the buick. If you're hell bent on going divorced, I'd second the LT230 call.

Where I live there are tons of Lada enthusiasts. Cheap, tough, reliable, capable, and can be fixed by almost anyone who knows which end of a hammer to swing.
