serious gas problem on my lc100

Post by chris's 1999 LC105 »

hay all please help me i just bought a 1999 LC105 on gas the bloke said he never had any troubles with it and all that bull but it ran on gas for a week and now wont.
it only starts on gas 20% of the time.
on idle it will stall.
when you slow bown to a stop it will stall
runs fine on petrol
it splatters alot before it stalls
works fine when revs are above 700rpm
and it may be all in my head but i keep smelling gas
so it is a petrol gas 4.5lt strait 6 with 2 * 40ltr gas tanks under the side steps. i have only ever had diesels and dont know where to even start with this one
any help is welcome
cheers chris

then take it to a qualified LPG specialist

if your not 'up with' LPG systems then its safer for you and those around you to be smart and take it to an expert.

check the pipe that goes from the air box to the converter. my falcon has similar symptoms when the balance pipe is not properly connected at the converter.

for the amout of different systems out there, I would take it to a gas place .. I had similar issues with mine, (pressure balance pipe has a solinoid on it, one wire was loose) I had resolved it but already made a booking at a gas place for them to take a look and tune it up about a week later (busy shop) after getting it back the pajero was a different creature on gas, better idle, more power (still not quite as much as petrol but noticeable improvement) better economy .. about 1.5 to 2 litre per 100 improvement ..

yeh definatly gonna take her in for a service at a gas mob, booked in next week its a 3 hour drive to get there but meh. just dont want to get ripped by some bullshit part. the hose coming off the air box may be the problem ill try it and check it out but i think there is a leak in there just coz the gas smell but cheers all for your opinion

the balance pipe wont effect the starting or if u dont have a snorkel or some other form of intake that uses ram air like a falcons standard intake u dont need one at all. the duel start is a small black box with three wires running into it but if u dont know gas and seeeing how everyone does things differently i could be anywhere, take it to a gas joint its likely something simple.
