I need to get new crown wheel and pinion (4.88)

What brand are use running?

Has anyone used NITRO Gears..

build a nitro diff mate there real good, go with a solid spacer tho, i dont brake diffs now i brake axles.

I run Yukon 4.88 in the front and nitro in the back. Neither have broken and both seem really great.

Had the front for 3 years and back in for 6 months

Does anyone know what the thickness of the crown wheel should be, so i can see if i can put after market gear set in my carrier?

Depends on the standard ratio that the centre came out with.

4.88 factory centre has a thicker crownwheel because the pinion is smaller.

And just a bit of info, you cannot put 4.88 aftermarket gear set into a factory 4.88 carrier.. It won't fit (as I found out) only OEM gears will fit.

The were built about 2 and half years ago..

But they are not the original carriers that were in my car, that's why i got all the questions

There's a guy on Ebay selling the Nitro gear sets for Hilux's for $380 free postage. :shock:
