Running standard GU ht-18 turbo on my GQ and want to know what egt temp most people will let it cool down to before turning it off,
Oil cooled only.
I usually let it idle down to about 150 degrees or so, that takes about 30 seconds or so depending on how hot it was.
Pyro is in the dump pipe about an inch away from the turbo housing.

td 42 turbo shut down temp.
Re: td 42 turbo shut down temp.
Ht-18 have oil and water lines running to them (I have one fitted to my GQ). I was told by a turbo specialist that 200 deg is safe but I always let mine cool off another 20 deg or so just to be sure.
Re: td 42 turbo shut down temp.
I turn mine off when its below 200.
