Holden V8 Ignition Module

Post by A.R.T Racing »

I have one in my GQ and the centre metal cap part gives an electric shock when touched and car is running. I am also having a lot of trouble with it not producing spark, and when it has started it isn't running very long and cuts out.

Went and saw local spare parts place and they have never sold one so that tells me these things don't play up too often.

Anyone else had this problem?

Are we talking about the 5.0L V8, if so, the ignition module is a common problem. And by what you've said it does indeed sound like the module is cactus. Replace and enjoy, reco ones can be had for ~$180.
Four wheels (Driving) good, two wheels bad.
