I recently changed steering boxes and have since had what I think are cavitation problems in the reservoir . Fluid goes foamy and comes out the cap.
I have changed the copper/brass washers in the banjo fittings that I undid when I changed boxes.
I have bled the box of air with the bleed nipple.
Not overfilled.
The pump hasn't run dry but may have come close.

jack the front up and go lock to lock about 10 times to get all the air out that way.

Other thing to try is as soon as the oil starts frothing up stop suck out the airated oil and put in fresh oil.
Note some cars will take a few days of driving to fully bleed the systems.

It may be sucking air through your hose joins, just check all your connections are tight and there is no seepage on your high preesure hose, you also might need to let the fluid settle to get all the air out of the fluid as once the fluid has air in it, it will take a while for it to work it's way out, maybe dump the fluid that's in there and start again, the way i bleed pwr str fluid is by suspending the wheels and before you start it turn the wheel lock to lock about 6 -8 times with the resiviour full, then start the car just enough to suck the fluid down, then top up the fluid and start the car again, this time turn the wheel from lock to lock approx 10 times while keeping an eye on the fluid, if it starts to overflow, (which it shouldn't) just turn the car off and wait a little for the fluid to settle prob take approx .5 hr then top it up and go lock to lock again
