gday mate,
ive got a series one landrover built for Tuff Truck with rear steer etc mine is old school landrover green in colour (bod and cage) i am leaning towards painting the cage a nice dark silver which i think would look mint!!! i think the silver would set the blue off on your truck as the blue is already birhgt the silver will just add to it!! you see too many trucks with black barwork!! silver is the go!!

Cheers

Crap twisty I didnt realised you had removed the top and tubed your 40. Looks pimp!
I have been tossing (ha) over the option to remove the roof on fluffy and tube it up. There are some nice rovers on pirate that have provided me with the inspiration I need.

Kelvin, I agree silver would look pretty cool!

So the cage is coming on quite well ,we have mastered the bender now quite easy once you get use to it
, and welding with gas is heaps better will never go back to gassles now
,so prity much the cab section is done and on the weekend we will do the winch cradle and completely finish the front end for now, then its on to the rear ,,,,,cutting off another 1m or so of chassis and fitting the fox air shocks working out heights of the shock hoops ect

,so not much left looking at a finish date of around easter just in time for play time.:D WB will be extened once we work out later on in the year how the A-frame front is gonna go in :D
here are some pic its a bit dark used my phone camera

Triangulation is your friend, do the B-pillar supports again & have them X. Or at the very least run a X brace between the 2 chassis support tubes you currently have burnt in. Keep them tight to the top support tubes & you should be still within the 100mm intersect point.
Everything else is sweet.

brooksy
Thanks Brooksy
do you mean a brace running between these two running down on to the chassis ,if so we are going to run 2 across this one lower down to the chassis to help with the fuel cell and one around mid rear window to pick up harness
do you mean run one 100mm below the main hoop

if your going to compete in this rig at all you may want to read the rules for cages. As Brooksy said at the very least X brace the B hoop, plus having the small bends at the top of them isnt the best idea....

as you can see MR MAXI-SNAPS i have responed to Brooksy recomendation and will be looking at it and as Brooksy has said above everything is sweet and if i put the cross brace in will be all good (even tho the entire rear of the cage is not even done yet ) and yes i have the whole rule book in the shed which i downloaded on Brooksy recomendation on another thread .And Greg from OUTCAST OFFROAD who is helping me has built a few trucks in his time and knows his shit :fist:

and yes i will take all the recomendation from people who actualy know what they talking about and have actually done it themselves ,you no :finger: not someone who is a internet jockey

sorry for adding Kelvin, I should have known better that im just a dumb fuck with nothing to add, this is clear in all the pics showing the amazing work you are doing.....Id throw the rule book away and just tell the scrutiners that you have used scaff tube and its the strongest steel tube available.

mate, I just stated to follow what you require, its not uncommon to see guys building rigs for comp and not meeting the requirment from the outset.....i dont know why??? I wasnt having a go. No I havent read the rule book as I dont compete nore am building a comp rig.....but I do know the odd rule or 2, just from being an interent jockey :finger:

You brought up the slander and shit stiring from that other thread. If you cant cop it back dont give it.

so winch cradles is in and the TOY-ROVER is completed from doors to the front the paint tube work .engine ect picked up a 80 series high pinion diff center for the front today so should get the ARBlocker and reverse cut 4.88 in next week,Greg had for some strange reason a set of jaguar bonnet hinges in his collection so got another breed of car in there now drilled and fitted the front bonnet pins
the shock hangers are going to be painted in the blue of the panels
the metalic grey/silver looks awesome
