Jimny Power Steering
Jimny Power Steering
Hi All,
I heard recently that it was quite easy to "bolt in" a Jimny power steering set up into a Sierra.
Has anyone done this? Is it as "simple" as it sounds?
Thanks,
Greg

All those things are on my wish list I think sticking to 1.3 gear would mean less breakage, more reliability, and more likely to pass engineers report, as you have made no real big changes. Also easier to fit an Auto, if you wish, with no major tail shaft issues, or hassles of converting rear of Vit Auto, etc. But 1.6 be OK ish I suppose. christover

I am running 31" tires and rockhopper with the Jimny motor and it drives very good. However if you have plans to go to a bigger tire size u will need to go bigger than the 1.3 EFI.
I put the Jimny 1.3 EFI & power steering in because it required next to no mods. (i only had to relocate the radiator bracket) and I was able to do it by myself at a very reasonable cost when compared to the Vit 1.6EFI.
I will be getting it engineered but i have been told that because i havent increased the engine capacity a eng cert. isn't required which would again be a significant cost saving.
