cut off saw?

Chasing some thoughts on a cutoff saw - Just need it to whop up tube, SHS etc but need to be able to clamp angles up to 45deg.

Making some tube work, gate frames, that kind of thing.

Something like this, interested to purchase once and only once... Ozito need not apply...

Anyone got preferences, experiences, pricing etc?

I have one of these, and use it very regularly,

I have a hatachi that i have used fo rthe last 7 years and a new metabo that I despise. I am still using the old hatachi with a faulty trigger over the metabo. Its about 4 degrees out! Just shite. Look for one with a better vice - they are all shite but some are marginal and almost good enough to use. Its funny how precision wood working compound mitre saws are compared to drop off saws. First tool when I get the shed built is a cold saw with a decent vice!

And you will be chosing which brand to satify that criteria, or are you going water/fluid cooled superdooper thingo?

I guess the real question is - who makes the best clamping mechanism on the generic saws, the rigid looks to be bit on the pricey side for a glorified angle grinder (700ish).

Either s/h brobo or a hare and forbes chinese one. Going for a look tomorrow.

I have thought about running a modified dawn drill press vice on the drop saw, with a decent base made of 12mm alloy or something, but I am yet to get that far.
