when i fitted my gt2871r i got one of matt mcinness adaptors. problems i encountered when removing the ct26 from the manifold it would hit the engine mount but with a large pry bar i got it off, but i would advise removing the manifold complete with turbo and then remove the turbo and then fit the adaptor plate and then the turbo. problem i had when fitting the turbo is that the wastegate actuator would hit the engine block so i had to modify the the wastegate actuator mount and extend the the actuator arm to get it fitted. if i was to do this again i would seriously look at dieseslex modified ct26 as there will be a lot less work and cheaper with better results if what dieslex is stating is true. (no reason to doubt it here)

why not have a chat to dieslex and see what it is going to cost for his modified turbo. don;t think you would get much change out of $2500 to $3000 fitting at gt2860 or similar

Hi all,

I have a Dieselex CT26 on my 1HDT. To say that I'm happy would be an understatement. It spools by 1200rpm and pulls strongly from 1400rpm. It's early days for me because I went from a 1HZ to a rebuilt 1HDT and put this turbo straight on. So no before and after impressions. I've only got 1000k's on the motor so far and have yet to tune fully and fit an intercooler but initial impressions are very good, and it bolts straight on.

Again, not a direct comparison, but I had a GT2860 on my previous GQ TD42 and the modded CT26 walks all over that for boost response.

Sorry, no science involved at this stage, no dyno runs etc, only seat-of-the-pants. I'm happy.

Cheers
Muz
