help needed with 5lt pump timing

Post by hilux2nv »

i have just fitted a 5l with a 2lte turbo unit, and have had the guts of my 5l pump swapped into a 2lt mechanical pump housing (so i dont have the timing control valve and now i have a tacho sensor)

i have timed the pump with a dial gauge to the specs as per the 5l toyota manual, problem being is it is flat to drive, it goes ok but not any better than a 2lte, it reves right out but does not make any black smoke at all

i would like to know what anyone has set the pump at for their 5lt conversions.

the factory spec is almost where the timing marks are btw, i cant remember but its about .56mm @ tdc.

and the boost compensator is set to 10% extra fuel .

all calibrations on the pump are correct (checked on calibration machine)

any help or ideas are apreciated.
