what is the sort of power can you get out of a standard 1hdt fuel pump with ball bearing turbo and intercooler. basically is getting the standard fuel rebuilt to factory specs then tuning it good enough or am i better off getting some internal mods done. i know this is a rather open ended questions but what have others experienced.
any info would be good

Re: 1hdt fuel pump
The standard pumps can supply all the fuel you will need for those mods, Unless your running crazy high boost.
To keep the whole lot reliable, I would say somewhere around the 15-17Psi mark (depnding on the turbo) would get you a comfortable 110+kw atw with nice lean AFR's and low EGT's.
It all depends on the application. Are you after every possible kw? Or is longevity important to you? (Ie, plan on keeping the car for the next 10 years or what ever).
Are you going to be towing with it? etc...
Just list those things up and we can recommend which setup and how much power it is possible to make.
Cheers

Re: 1hdt fuel pump
ok thanks for that thats all i really wanted to know if it would deliver enough fuel. as it is a daily driver relability and longevity are important but also is a few more ponies to get the beast going.

Re: 1hdt fuel pump
Yes that is a 1hdt pump number, for a manual 80 series.
