tb42 turbo injectors
tb42 turbo injectors
can anyone please tell me if gtr injectors are a direct replacement for standard injectors. If so do you have to replace the o rings to suit the tb42 manifold.
What cc injector are recommended for up to 15 psi
Any help would be grately appreciated
Cheers

hi there yes gtr injectors do fit sure what model but r32gtrs ring a bell they are rated at im pretty sure 440cc so they will do you fine what ecu you planning on runnin as im not sure the impedance of the different injectors to a standard computer.
if you get gtr injectors go with a gtr fuel pressure reg and have the injectors serviced you will then get new orings with them cheers

Re: tb42 turbo injectors
Can anyone confirm this, will R25gtr injectors fit into the standard tb42 intake manifold and fuel rail?? as have also read on here that RB20det injectors fit and these are a different size??

Re: tb42 turbo injectors
I used some gtr skyline injectors in my tb42, not sure about the rb20, the ones I used were definately skyline gtr 550cc I think from memory, yes they fitted straight in no modifications.
Re: tb42 turbo injectors
RB20 DET injectors are approx 270cc , top feed , High Impedance
RB25 DET injectors are mid 300cc range , side feed ( will not fit ) High Imp
RB26 DETT injectors are 440CC Low impedance
RB25 DET injectors are mid 300cc range , side feed ( will not fit ) High Imp
RB26 DETT injectors are 440CC Low impedance
Re: tb42 turbo injectors
So any high impedence top feed injector to suit either a RB20, RB26 will fit?
What the differnece in spray patterns, are the single nozzles better in the tb42 manifolds or do the 4 nozzle style atomize better. Does it all depend on the injectors position in the manifold or it one style just better? will the 550cc have plenty of duty cycle? as was originally going to g for 650's or 700 but don't want idle to suffer.
These injectors are to suit a turbo build running around 15 pound to start with until rods and forgies are fitted.
Thanks guys for your help so far

on a 6 cylinder its pretty easy to work out , 550's will be enough for 550 hp at the flywheel with some margin for safety 700's will be enough for 700hp etc
most 500cc plus injectors are low impedance , and most aftermarket ECUs will run them without issue , but some ECUs ( like factory ones ) have weaker injector drivers so they need a resistor wired inline with each injector to reduce the load on the drivers .
as for the spray pattern , i have never really got into that , I think as long as the injectors are angled similar to the stock ones it shouldnt be an issue
Re: tb42 turbo injectors
About 5cc Per HP is what it will equate to on a High BSFC motor.
I doubt though that you will max out a set of 550cc injectors without causing damage to the motor.
Besides that, 15psi is only pressure....
Using a GT40+Series at 15psi will see like 900+++HP
Using a GT20Series @ 15psi will see like 250HP.
So what turbo is it?

Mazda 13Bturbo inj high imp 550cc work on mine not maxing out 15 psi 5750 rpm red top on them from memory
Nup not telling
you'll have to find out yourself

Re: tb42 turbo injectors
You can swap the "o" rings out of Bosch EV1 style injectors to suit the 11mm style in the Nissan.
The amount of fuel used to make power depends on how efficiently the engine makes power with the fuel, a pushrod TB42 isn't the most efficient thing around, I'd be leaning towards 600 cc's for 550 HP. Current style injectors with multi nozzles are pretty good at small duty cycles and idle qualities can be maintained, having said that I wouldn't be trying to make a genuine 550HP out of a stock motor, pistons and rods would be required, not to mention a camshaft with some more lift and duration.

You had the opportunity to tune with a set of InjectorDynamics injectors?4wheelinls1 wrote:You can swap the "o" rings out of Bosch EV1 style injectors to suit the 11mm style in the Nissan.

Amazing watching a set of 1000cc Injectors / Autronic /2.5L Subi motor Idle stable and smooth at 15:1 @ 800rpm. unheard of for anything normally larger than about 660-700cc on that motor.
Re: tb42 turbo injectors
my brother just put some ID 2000's in his GTR and tuned it on 98 and then E85 , and it idles real nice , much better than with the 1000cc denso injectors he had previously ...
