Upon removin harmonic balancer for engine rebuild - the nut in front of the balancer was finally removed after 1 hour of workin out how to remove a stuck nut without a flywheel/gearbox.
Now ive come to the stage where the cone remains inside the harmonic balancer. I have screwed the nut back on and used an old socket to hammer it back to loosen the cone that resides there. But no luck
any suggestions?? :( :(
Have sprayed heaps of WD40 to see what comes out of it. but it looks pretty firm :(

It should shock the cone loose.

Thanks mate for ya reply -
Balancer has a nice little chip on it - means ill need a new one.
I plan to in the morning put a block of wood across it and give it a good bash. - would damaging the balancer have any damage to other imprtant parts?
eg - replacing balancer wouldnt be much of a drama wouldnt it??

How comes its chipped?
Shouldnt bother any other parts.

Think it was a freight problem when my mates bought it over via trailer.. harmonic balancer may have bumped the tray o fthe trailer and gave it a nice chip But not fussed. as long as i can try to get it apart so i can get the crankshaft out then i'd be happy.
Will give it a go tmw.
Thanks
