water tank hose and ideas

Post by ash_on_mtb »

Got a ghetto setup for a water tank, but the way I've got it arranged is starting to fail...

I've got some crappy plastic hose with a bunch of elbows to keep the hose nice and tight in to the tank, but on the outlet side of the pump, we use the hose as sort of an extension cord I guess, and the constant movement is creating cracks and leaks in the whole arrangement.

So I'm wondering what exists to suit my needs? Is there a style of product that would be better suited for my needs? The only consideration I would make is that there is a stop valve at the end of the hose/outlet so when you stop using it, it doesn't dribble whilst the excess water runs through. I've had a look at some marine stuff, and caravan stuff but nothing seems to be that flash...?!

Thoughts??

Can you un`screw the hose barb on the inlet and out let of the pump .

If so find out what size the thread is on pump along with the tank than go to bunnings and buy

For EG

A nipple to reduce down to the tank like 1/2'' to 3/8''
And what ever size the pump is which could be 1/2'' to 1/4'' nipple .

Than get one 150mm long stainless steel flexi quick connector with one end of the flexi with a 90" bend on one end.
And a straight 1/2'' female end on the other to connect to your pump with the nipple adaptor .

Use the same adaptor on the outlet side of the pump and a 1500mm quick connector up to a 1/2'' ball valve than to what ever you need .
