engine noises and hard to start with misfire???
Just wondering how noisy your engines are???
Mine has quite a lot of noise when cold, and gets better as it warms up. it sounds like lifters rattling, similar to tappets not adjusted properly on older cars?
It also take a few cranks to start and idles rough for the first 5 seconds or so.
finally, until warmed up it has a single stutter when you accelerate from idle. just a single miss as soon as you press the accelerator.
I wonder if these are all interlinked? I was wondering something like a lifter that is not pumping up properly, so it is hard to start until the oil pressure in the lifters is maintained?
or could it be something much better (or worse)

goforit.... My experience with teh feroza is the tappets are very sensitive, and regularly need adjusting. I think you'll find the tappets need adjusting. Then a good tune up will get it right.
If you do it yourself, careful when you retighten the tappet cover. I broke two of em cause I overtighened the bolts.

Yes it would effect starting and running. No I cant tell you clearances, but I think they are written on teh underside of the bonnet.
IMHO your better off getting a mech to do it. If you dont get them done, it can wreck your valves and have to get new ones. (from experience )

its ok i should have read the service manual first......i found the values in that.
i have done plenty of tappets etc when replacing heads and rebuilding engines in the past, so I will do it myself this weekend and see how it goes.
