just bought it. it had the motor pulled out with a few bits missing.
needs verry little work and the correct front tailshaft.
the plans for it are to put rangie coils and a 308 holden v8 into it. i dont like the idea of 2tonne of car and drum brakes

New to the range rover family, just picked her up today. Will be mostly for soft sand/beach expeditions but hopefully if I get more adventurous she will perform admirably

It changed a lot since those pic's , its now running 40" sticky trepp's
and the rear of the cage had to be changed to suit .
It's running sals rear with arb rover front with arb rover trac axles
custom a-frame and trailing arms .
Hoping to get to the front bar work and suspension soon .
Lots of other mod to but could be here all day listing them

They bolted straight into the rear however the LR bolts and mounts are the tinniest bit smaller diameter but with it all cranked up its ok. The front end upper and lower mounts are Rovertym items so they bolted straight in there. SInce the car is road driven etc i had them valved sort of soft and so far i love them! The heims make them a bit rough but otherwise they iron out the bumps etc.

Really happy with the performance. It's no animal from the lights but on the highway loaded up it's fantastic. drives like a 3.9 till the boost comes on.

One thing i would recommend would be to change the Lucas Distributor to a Scorcher one. When i did that to my Rover SD1 V8 Turbo it made a huge difference. Not only is it more reliable but parts are easy to get because its off a Holden(Bosch). There are bit pricey at $600 but you will never have to worry about it again.

S'happenin' people... been lurking for a long time, thought I might finally throw up some pics of my Rovers.

This is my current weapon back in '97 when it was first built up by Les Richmond Automotive (known as Rangie Spares then).
Image

Here's how it stands today after going through the hands of the original and second owner. Unfortunately I can't claim ownership of those awesome battle scars, that was the second owner.

I'm currently bringing her back to good health mechanically so there ain't many wheelin' pics yet. So to compensate here's a couple o' pics of the daily during a Rivo mud sesh a couple of weeks ago. She's a dead stock D2 Td5 with rooted suspension.

Shortened series 3 body on a range rover chassis, Isuzu 4bb1 diesel, Isuzu msb 5m gear box, LT235 transfer case, four link rear, three link front with panard arm, dam long springs and shocks, arb bull bar, 12 volt and 24 volt electrics with inverter, winch and snorkel. Just needs a rear locker to make getting over the harder stuff easier. Truck gear box comes with a approx 50% lower first gear.
Cheers

Couple of changes to my vehicle. finally have a winch.

Once that's all done it will be time to fit the supercharger and microsquirt!!!
