Do you guys have a preference to your polyurethane brands?
I'm used to using Sikalfex but noticed there are other makers of polyurethane sealants/adhesives, eg Selleys, Bostic etc.
Are they all the same or is one better then the other? I only use it for automotive stuff not construction.

Re: Polyurethane brands-Sika etc
Dunno about automotive, but in the limited experience I've had with construction, if you compare apples to apples (ie the Selleys product designed for 'X' and the Sika product for 'X' the Sikaflex wins hands down and then some.
Anything serious/important I'll use Sikaflex stuff, for day to day household jobs ('no more gaps') for example I'll use Selleys. The gaps in my 100+ year old flooring with a ton of traffic get Sikaflex stuff, my bathroom shower gets Selleys.

Apparently people think I'm too patronising (that means I treat them like they’re stupid).
Re: Polyurethane brands-Sika etc
3M are about to bring out some sealers which i'd say we will start using at work to replace the Sika products we are currently using.
Sika products are to inconsistent. We use boxes of it (sometimes 5 boxes a week between 3 of us) and from one tube to the next in the same box the consistencies all over the place. One tube will be soft and easy to use and the next tube the sealer will blow out the side of the gun because it's started to go off in the tube.
Bostic have come a long way but still don't have an equiviant of everything in the Sika range as yet otherwise we would be using it. Most Panel shops are starting to steer away for Sika and use Teroson products which are heaps better then Sika also.
I just wish 3M would pull there finger out and get these new sealers out because we are really over the Sika products but if it doesn't happen soon we may switch to Teroson too.

Wurth KD bond is a good bit of gear, used sika and kd on the same job and the kd dried faster and was way better to use.
Re: Polyurethane brands-Sika etc
I buy bostic polyurethane construction adhesive (similar to sika 11fc) in cartons of sausage gun tubes - ends up about $7 a sausage.
I'll use either, they finish about the same.
Wouldn't have a clue about the automotive stuff, I'm a builder.
