tray mounting options

I have come to the stage where I need to make a tray for the 80 series, I have a design in my head but I am unsure how to mount it to the chassis.
I was thinking of fish plating the chassis where the mounts need to go and with a 15mm pad on the plate tapped to accept 4 bolts and mounting the tray to this. However I am not sure if this will cause stress point due to the chassis wanting to twist forward of the tray area.

The other option I was thinking was mounting it by using rubber bushes similar to these

what sort of tray are you building?
is it a comp rig?
if it s just a weekender or tourer why not just bolt crossmembers on top of the body mounts then run the main runners ontop 1m apart then tray crossmembers on the mainrunners and side combings build the tray from there . thats how all the commercial trays are mounted .

It is a comp rig that will also be road registered. I plan to make the tray out of tube. The tray will be very simple, carrying only the stuff that i need for winch comps.
