Also track building is on this weekend the 15th. Cals Climb is looking good for Challenge and Outlaw.
It's easy to get upto Cals even with a stock 120 series prado with a 2 inch lift so watching the comp up there will be worth the drive.
Will there be scrutineering this Sunday at the track building day??

Track builders and Class officials are heading out to Scenic Rim Adventure Park Sunday 15th to weave their magic on some of the difficult terrain Scenic Rim has to offer. They are meeting there at about 10am if anybody wishes to attend and have a look around the park.
I know for sure that Modified Class are in for some real surprises with some real Peter K tricks to challenge both Drivers and Navi's.
Hope to see a few of you there.
Regards.

Track builders were out at Scenic Rim on the weekend to pick their classes areas for the comp on the 28th & 29th May. :)
The following is a list of where everyone will be on which day.

Saturday 28th:
Outlaw will be running both Track 1 & Track 2 in the lower section of Cal's Climb
Challenge Class will be running both Track 1 & Track 2 in the middle section of Cal's Climb just up from Outlaw Class
Modified Class will be running 1 Track in the suspension stuff hollow area behind the office and the 2nd Track will be in the play area just up from the office area.
Trophy Class will be running 1 Track in the suspension stuff hollow area behind the office and their 2nd Track will be held in the Rockin Bobcat area heading up the creek on the right hand side

Sunday 29th:
Outlaw will be running in the play area just up from the office
Challenge Class will be running in the suspension stuff hollow behind the office
Modified will be running in the Cruiser Hill area of Cals Climb
Trophy Class will be running in the top end of Cals Climb near Modified Class

Driving to and from the comp areas will be clearly marked out by Tough Tracks 4x4 Club. We will also have maps available at the office to show you which direction you need to go to get to the comps and outline of which class will be where and when.
Going up to Cal's Climb is easily done with a standard 4wd or possibly a high clearance AWD and will be marked out by us as it is easy to take a wrong turn sometimes  but will have the most rewards as the better Rock tracks are up there.
Action on both Saturday and Sunday will be easily accessed by most vehicles in the lower section of the park.
For further info on Scenic Rim then head to their website http://www.scenicrimadventurepark.com.au/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I wanna watch Track 2 Modified... Pete is getting mean! That is all I'm going to say on that. (EDIT - except to say I'd love to be able to drive it - will be a load of fun)

Challenge should be a lot of fun. Really good Tracks 1 & 3. Track 2 will require some creativity. Maybe we finish early and go watch Mod Class? Just kidding, will try and maximise seat time for all drivers with some longish tracks with plenty of thinking for both driver and navi. Hope your navis are fit.

Also a big thank you to Kent and Ben for helping out Brendan and myself with pointing out some good lines and creative thinking.

Is nomination form and payment done by the same method as in round 1 this year?
ie: by email and EFT?

I had a quick read through this thread and couldn't see the answer, so apologies if I missed it.

Sorry guys and Gals but our website is still not up and running the way we want it at the moment so going onto it wont work when you click send on the online form.
Nominations can still be done the same as Round 1. :)
For those who wish to nominate for Round 2 before next Saturday (which is the prefered way as it's saves hold ups before the comp) you can request a nomination form by emailing info@toughtracks4wdclub.org or admin@toughtracks4wdclub.org we will send it through, if you can fill it out and then send it back to admin@toughtracks4wdclub.org they will send you the Direct Deposit details to pay.
Some points to remember for new members(and some of the forgetful old members):
1. Both Modified and Trophy Class vehicles Must be Registered and have proof of their CPT extension for that vehicle
2. All new cars to Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge Series MUST be scrutineered prior to competing. This can be done by ringing Peter Kitchin at Redlands 4wd Centre or PM Bowtie Landie on here as limited numbers can be done on Saturday Morning.
3. If you have paid by Direct Deposit please bring proof of payment so that we can mark it off against our bank statement

Hope everyones looking forward to a great Round 2 of Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge i know we all are here at the club.

You should be able to get your truck into the park loaded but you will need to take the 2wd track in. As for camping we suggest you give Scenic Rim a ring and book a site for camping for the weekend as yes you can camp Friday night some of the club officials will be out there Friday.

We wouldn't have recieved your nomination through the website as we are having a few problems with it.
If you can register via the above thread would be great. Also remember that your vehicle needs to be scrutineered prior to competing.

DON'T BE PUT OFF BY THE WEATHER - We won't postpone the comp unless the park owners consider it necessary to do so, but I can assure you that it will be a last resort.

Alot of effort has gone into the preparation of this event by the park owners and the club, and many people have organised days off for this week-end - so no-one wants to see it postponed.

Besides, most of the time the transit tracks will dry out fairly quickly. The competition tracks can be adjusted to suit wet weather conditions.

So prepare for a great week-end.

Well it looks like the weather gods may hold off on this rain for the weekend.
For those heading out to Scenic Rim Adventure Park for the first time here are some instructions to get there if your coming in from the North through Beaudesert.

1. Follow the signs to Beaudesert
2. When you get to the centre of Beaudesert at the Traffic lights(R.T Edwards will be on your right and KFC across the other side of the lights) turn Right down Telemon St.
3. Head up Telemon St past the servo and take the next Right into Beaudesert-Boonah Rd
4. Follow Beaudesert-Boonah Rd for approx 4km past the Race Course and over the Logan River Bridge.
5. Take the next Left into Sandy Creek Rd
6. Head up Sandy Creek Rd until you get to a roundabout and take the 3rd exit
7. After you have exited the roundabout approx 100m up the road is a turn to the Left. This is Swan Gully Rd.
8. After turning up Swan Gully Rd follow the signs to Scenic Rim Adventure Park  ( make sure your windows are up driving up the first section of Swan Gully Rd as the processing plant on your left has a very putrid aroma, dont say we didnt warn you)
Follow the signs for Scenic Rim Adventure Park and/or the signs to Tough Tracks 4x4 Challenge

Remember if your driving a 4wd and not towing anything then you MUST take the 4wd entrance to the park not the 2wd entrance, Thanks.

There is no EFTPOS at Scenic Rim so make sure you bring cash for entry, food and extra coins for the raffle, which sounds like its got some great prizes again.
Looking forward to another action packed weekend and hope to see you all there.
Regards,

Its $90 to enter the event and $55 for park entry. The prices for entering the park if your not a competitor are on this forum thread.
Starts with drivers briefing at 8:30am comp starts at 9am. Get there early to get your vehicle scrutineered and checked for safety equipment.
Have you rung Rob M to see if he has the old pod filter off the commodore they had up there.
