Replace 1hz with ls1

Can any one tell me the problems I need to look out for when replacing the 1hz with a ls1 is there any thing I should or shouldn't do

You should first remove the 1hz b4 trying to fit the ls1.

Not doing this can cause some issues..

Sorry killalux it's a 80 series 5 speed and I am thinking about putting a ls1 auto that I already have for a nother project as I am just sick of having to flog a diesel and still get passed by trucks up hills

Theres a bit involved as the others say with the cost, check Marks 4WD, for conversion kits, that willbe much easyer, the fuel supply is a issue for a lot off people.

Can always boost ya 1HZ and not bother with teh expnse of a LS1 conversion... that truck that past you is probably a tanker with teh fuel you needed to run and LS1 anyways!!!

I have a ls1 in my vt and I don't think I would be able to get enough boost in a diesel reliably to even half match a standard ls1

after seeing several ls1 powered 4wd's (75 series cruiser, gq patrol, my 75/80 cruiser) i'd take an ls1 over a diesel any day of the week, if you like having decent power under your boot

I definatly agree besides it is working out cheaper than rebuilding the diesel and fitting a turbo to

Pretty much what you will need going from my memory:
Bell housing adapter and clutch parts from marks adapters,
Block hugger headers from marks (other brands may work but marks definitely fit)
I used a 4terrain clutch as they are much better priced compared to what marks are and the 11inch clutch they offer takes more force than the commo's standard clutch.
Standard commo electric fans fit perfect with a bit of trimming and I haven't had any over heating problems even when working it hard in 45* days.
Standard commo fuel pump as they are cheap 2nd hand, have built in regulator and I couldn't get any aftermarket regulator/fuel pump setups to work and be reliable so I went the obvious path.
I saved a fair bit by not getting A/C hooked up as I don't need it with the electric windows as the brakets and pump need heaps of mods to fit and the extra plumbing was too expensive.
Ls power steering pump bolts straight up to the cruiser pipes (1hz pipes anyway)
Wiring is very simple I think it was 6 wires to ignition I think it was and it ran. I can give you some diagrams when you get that far.
Also the computer has to be unlocked which is a $50 job or you can get a mafless tune at the same time for a bit more. There is a speed sensor that I am missing on mine as I didn't pay the $500 for the adaptor which makes it much more economical at cruising speeds mine does about 18-22L/100 without (doesn't matter how soft or hard I drive I can't get it over 22L/100km) and with it should drop it down to about 14-16l/100km or so im told.
