93 4runner sas conversion diff question?

Post by AU55IE »

doing a sas conversion on the 93 4runner
i have picked up a set of 60series locked diffs. going 60 series front diff with leaves and 4 link rear, but still unsure of what rear diff to use??
can i use the 60 series rear locker in 4 runner diff? will the 4 runner diff be strong enough? i figured i cant use to 60 rear diff as the pumpkin is offset.
i will be running 35's or bigger.

60 diff will need to be flipped to suit the 4Runner but is heaps tuffer than the standard piece of pooh in the 4 Runner, not just in the centre but the hub and and axles will be tuffer too.

Im running GQ rear in my 4runner with a 4 link and triangulated uppers,In my opinion the nissan diff will be more the up to the task and no mucking around flipping diffs or moving your fuel tank.. im running the 80 series front in mine and track widths work out a treat

I also run std patrol offset on road rubber and 12.5" wide rubber only just sits within the flare, and your rear diff is 5" wider at the mounting face :?
You have weaved some sweet magic to get it to work, done well !!

Keen to see how you mounted the triangulated 4 link without moving the fuel tank cause it's definately in the way for each way I tried to get reasonable length arms to possibly work even with minimal seperation.
PM if you prefer.

I have moved the fuel tank to the spare tyre area and run a gq patrol tank.

Im only running 265/75/16s and the tyres tread sits JUST on the flare the sidewall is just outside the flare

The 60 centre is much bigger than a hilux one (hilux - 8", 60 - 9.5") so will not fit without some major fab work to the housing.
