Airshock/coilover positioning??
G'day
I've got a dual cab lux looking to put air shocks and coilovers in.
I've got 16" coilovers and 18" air shocks ready to fit.
My question is should in put the coilovers in the front and airshock in rear or the other way around?
Suspension will be dual tri 4 link front and rear,sump permitting in the front.

Without having the shocks stick out of your bonnet, you'll have a fun time making even the 16" coilovers fit. I imagine this might not be a problem as you are running air shocks this might not be registered? Also, being a dual cab, your rear links will be able to be plenty longer than the front giving a greater potential for flex in the rear so the 18" shocks would suit better.

running hydro steer on the front? ur going to have fun holding onto the steering wheel if not. Not without alot of trial and error and experimenting anyway.
Id probably run the coilovers in the front...might make it easier to compensate for any torqueover you may get.

Not running hydro just yet.
As soon as the LS1 is in and running and the suspension is setup then ill be buying hydro as ive got some 40'' treps on the way.
In a few months the 18'' airshocks will be replaced with another set of 16'' coilovers.
I was also thinking coilovers in the front for the extra weight of the engine,but then i may have to change coil rates as the coilovers came out of a vehicle with truggy rear and is relatively light.

I'd be putting the c/o's in the back. The rear will flex regardless of whether you have the airs or c/o's there. You want to get the front moving more, so for that reason I'd put the airs there.
And as you have already stated, the c/o's came from a truggy arse end. They'll probably slot straight in without any need for tuning.

Are the Air-Shocks 2.0 or 2.5?
On a heavy vehicle like a dual cab Hilux I would put the Coil-Overs on the front and the Air-Shocks on the back.

Good point about the c/o's in the rear because of the truggy.

luke they are 2.0 racerunners,and thats what i thought but because of the weight difference id have to get different coils.
If i put them in the rear it should be pretty close and after my ls1 is done(engine is mounted just need to do fuel lines,wiring and tailshaft etc) i will be buying another set of coilovers to replace the airs.

16" coilovers in the rear, forget the 18" airs & replace them with some 14" coilovers in the front. (even 16's are way to long for 95% of comps)
2.0's all round will be fine unless you intend on doing long distance speed events. Also you have a wider range in 2.0 coils especially when using "cold rolled" coils which is what I would recommend.
