GQ Suspension options help

Post by Wozza244 »

Ok i have bought a 4" lift from Suspension Stuff.
It will be fitted in about a month.
About a month after that i will be purchasing the Superior Superflex Arms, so should i just use the caster correction plates in the kit for now with standard arms and then whack the superflex arms in afterwards when i get them, or should i just buy drop boxes straight up, use them with the standard arms and then also with the superflex arms?

I have heard some people say that with the superflex arms, drop boxes arent needed???

Also, this is my front coil in 95 GQ Coilcab Ute, is this a coil spacer or is this standard? And yes i know my bump stop is broken, i ordered new ones to turn up with the suspension pack.

yeah mate thats a coil spacer. and as for your superflex arms depends if you get a standard length one of one thats longer to suit your lift as to weather you need drop boxes or not.

I'm running the superflex arm + drop box combo.
I just bought the single super flex arm and still use the standard gq on the RHS.

Couple pics.

Are you fitting the lift yourself ??

Can you wait until you have all the gear and do the job once ?

I run a set of superflex arms for my 3" lift that I fitted after running castor bushes for nearly a year.

Personally I'd get the dropped superflex arm to suit your lift instead of the drop boxes. That said it all depends on what your truck is used for, if you want flex the dropped arms are the go, if you want stability at highway speed then the drop boxes with the standard height arms will work.

My truck is just a capable tourer, i use it to go camping and tackle some interesting tracks, the high country for example, nothing too extreme.
Flex is good but it does alot of miles on road as its my everyday driver.

Email Mick at Superior engineering and get his advice. My heap is also my daily but never sees speeds above 70-80 kph so I went with the dropped arms instead of the dropbox and arm combo. Lots of road/highway miles would probably mean the drop boxes and 'standard' superflex arms.
